Cassandra Eve Brown graduated from the University of Lethbridge in 2010 with a Bachelors degree in Fine Art, focusing on painting. She continues to live and work in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.
She creates acrylic and digital paintings with a focus on folklore, fairytales and myths. She has a special interest in fairylore with Canadian origins and also adapting traditional fairy and folktales to the Canadian landscape. Paintings are created by layering resin and acrylic paint on baltic birch panels, slowly building up the image from background to foreground. This depth and layering allow for the image to shift as the viewers move around the painting. This is meant to mimic the oral and written traditions of the folktale narrative that inspires the paintings.
